This was a holiday so I intentionally tried not to slow the others guys down searching for the perfect image. Well, maybe only once or twice. We were staying near Falicon, in the hills above Nice. For photography in the Nice area, these are the spots I enjoyed most:
Nice - Interesting backstreets in the old town, and fountains in the main park. I liked it best at night, with statues in coloured light and reflections in the water from the fountains.
Villefranche-sur-mer - Beautiful village with a small beach.
Antibes - Probably my favourite. Sea walls, backstreets, nice bars and the largest yachting harbour in Europe.
Monaco - As a Formula 1 fan, I can't help but like the place. The glamour of Monte Carlo casino and yachts, and it's worth climbing the hill to the area around the Prince's Palace too.
Èze - Tiny walkways weave through this tiny commune that overlooks a 400m cliff. Now full small shops, galleries and a hotel, it's still beautiful. The church interior looks untouched in centuries and is well worth a visit.
Utelle - Perched up in the hills, about 40 miles from Nice. Stunning views of the alps, beautifully quiet and a good place for a hike.
