Street Photography Workshops

New York. Walk in the footsteps of Elliot Erwitt, Mary Ellen Mark, Vivian Maier, Martha Cooper and Joel Meyerowitz, photographing one of the most amazing cities on the planet. Explore and learn how to compose inspiring images that tell the stories from iconic locations around the city.

Small workshops of no more than 8 per group.
One-to-one time with the instructor guaranteed.
Top participants invited to join the exclusive NYC Street Collective and contribute to it's annual publication.

Gathering (1 hour) - We'll first get together to meet each other and talk through some of the key principles and techniques involved in street photography. We'll discuss styles, aims, attitude, composition, working a scene, overcoming blocks, interacting with subjects, story telling and camera techniques.

Going Out (2 hours) - The majority of the workshop will be out on the streets. We will focus on three different geographic areas, practising different techniques in each.

Group Critique (1 hour) - To close the workshop, everyone is welcome to share a few images from the day. We'll then discuss the images, post-processing techniques, the New York street environments and how the techniques have helped to create memorable images.
