Paid vs Unpaid, Followers vs Free

With a paying client there’s an obligation, an agreement and expectation.

To a lesser extent, it’s the same with a social media following. There’s an expectation that you’re going to produce something of a certain style and quality.

Many of us don’t appreciate and definitely don’t utilize the freedom of doing work without a client or away from social media. We still end up following the same path, producing the same kind of work that is ‘normal’, that’s expected. What an opportunity to just explore, experiment, be ourselves, play and have fun. Or, even better, seek generosity- to encourage and engage and connect. What an opportunity to do something different.

Don’t worry about the numbers. And do for one what you would like to do for many.
